On January 8-10, the Mongolian delegation headed by Prime Minister of Mongolia S. Batbold paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 
Arab officials welcome Prime Minister S.Batbold to the UAE
The Mongolian delegation was welcomed by UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Oil, and other officials at the international airport of Abu Dhabi.
In the history of our relations, the Mongolian side has paid a visit at the Presidential level; a visit at the level of the Head of the executive power never took place.
Prime Minister Batbold held a meeting with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council (AIC). He spoke about the economic and political situation in Mongolia, ways of working with countries with big markets on issues of trade liberalization, and contracts Mongolia established with Russia and China by as a landlocked country.
He expressed willingness to study experiences of the UAE’s development and said the UAE has an opportunity to develop collaboration with Mongolia by investing the biggest projects to be realized in infrastructure.
In response, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan wished the Prime Minister a pleasant stay in the UAE.
He said the AIC is studying ways of widening ties with Mongolia and collaborating in some projects. He then asked about Mongolia’s external trade, freight, tariffs and taxes. The meeting resulted in agreeing to have a meeting on working groups’ level to discuss cooperation matters.
The same day, the Prime Minister received General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Deputy Prime Minister of UAE, and other officials.
At the meeting, the sides discussed ways of boosting relations and cooperation.
On January 10, Mr.Batbold met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and ruler of Dubai. 
PM S.Batbold met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE Having spoken about Mongolia,its trade, business, investments and foreign policy, the Mongolian Prime Minister expressed willingness to develop its relationship and cooperation with the Gulf States including the UAE. Mr. Batbold noted that Mongolia is holding talks with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) regarding the making of investments in Mongolia.
He emphasized the importance of raising the issue of supplying nuclear fuel to the UAE.
In response, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the UAE is attaching high importance to the working visit of the Mongolian Prime Minister, adding that the two countries share many similar things. “I have heard that Mongolians love horses and have a lot of good horses for race. I love horses too,” His Highness stressed. “The two countries have a wide opportunity to boost cooperation and determine its direction soon,” he added.
Prime Minister Batbold invited him to visit Mongolia. |
